"Other home remedies that can save your receding gums are curry leaves..."

Yesm you can always reduce recdiging of gums. You need to add seasame oil or cooked seeds. Other home remedies that can save your receding gums are curry leaves, cow milk, tea tree oil. Also you need to ask your dentist to use proper toothpaste that has more sodium quantity. Daily intake of glass of milk is very good for your teeths life.

Q. Will i lose my teeth with receding gums and periodititus, what can i do to save my teeth falling out?

"Good luck..."

If you don't get it taken care of by a professional, than yes you can! Go to your dentist & have them look at your teeth & see what they need to have done. You may need what is called Scaling & Root Planing, which is a deep cleaning. They will get you numb on one side of your mouth & clean your teeth (numbing is done so that you are more comfortable). Good luck

Q. I need to lose two remaining baby teeth and gums are receding?
so im 15 and have two remaining baby teeth. they arent very loose, and i have to force them to wiggle. the adult teeth have grown in almost all the way diagonally behind the babies. also, the gums above the baby teeth have been like almost become holes. the right one, is red like the flesh broke off or something. the left one, i can see the baby tooth is trying to come out and it is like diagonal so it creates a crease (if you know what i mean). the gums on some of my bottom teeth have also been bleeding. idk why-- i brush my teeth twice a day, mouth wash twice a day, floss (but not like everyy day), and to top it off, my 12 year old molars are just finally starting to come in (and im almost 16. hooray.) i need braces desperately (gap between my two front top teeth and two front bottom teeth are crooked). last time i lost baby teeth was summer, 2 years ago. please help, i really need this help. last time i brought it up to my dentist, she thought the adult teeth behind the other adult teeth were just molars and she wouldnt listen to what i had to say and my mom wasnt there to explain. please, i need to get rid of these teeth fast and save my gums and get braces. please help! also i play clarinet and my mouth has been bothering me lately and im afraid to smile

you need those baby teeteh pulled out, happend to me. i acually had most of my baby teeth pulled out. your gumes are irratated , and u should tell ur dentist. it doest hurt, even when they arent loose.

Q. What to do about decalcification in area of receding gums?
i am young, and have some recending gums as a result of having been a smoker, in an area which i had missed brushing as my teeth are a bit crooked. on the upper part of my tooth with this problem, i've had dealcification (light color, sensitivity) for years. all of a sudden, one night while brushing, a piece of the enamel came off (tiny)...so now i have an indentation there...can this be filled like a cavity? i'm so worried, but i have no dental insurance and don't know what could be done...what, if anything, can be done to save this tooth (and my smile)?

Visit a dental college. You can have it filled in with composite. It is white in color and is used to make the tooth look natural again. Visit www.ada.org and look up dental colleges in your state. There are 3 in massachusetts if you live near there. It costs much less than a private office. Also start using an over the counter fluoride rinse every night before bed after brushing (ACT brand example)

Q. Am i causing my gums to recede?
i've been noticing my gums receding for quite a while now, my teeth look longer and my gums aren't as big as they used to be, i pointed this out to my dentist (havent been for over 7 months now..) and he said my teeth were perfectly fine, although i may be brushin incorrectly.. is this true, can brushing my gums the wrong way cause them to recede? i also flossed last week and they did slightly bleed.. what can i do to save my gums.. please help! i brush every night and use mouthwash everyday..

"They work great..."

It could be the start of gingivitis (I'm not a dentist though!) bleeding when flossing is often a sign. Dont freak though, it's reversible! Plus if your dentist said you are fine I wouldn't worry too much! You could just be brushing too hard, or have a hard bristle toothbrush. I'd suggest one of the electric toothbrushes as well, they work great! be sure to brush all surfaces of the tooth at a 45 degree angle, in a small circular motion. Also be sure to floss daily ^.^ It really works miracles! be sure to floss between the gums and the teeth on both sides, not just between the contacting surfaces of the teeth. Good Luck!

Q. Can not afford to go to a dentist. need dential advise?
i have a very loose tooth due to receding gums in the bottom front of my mouth. can i some how save this tooth from falling out. how do i find dental help with no insurance and limited income

If the tooth is very loose it may be past the point of saving. As a general rule, once the supporting bone is gone it will not grow back. It sounds like it should have been taken care of a long time ago before it got to this stage. Sorry for the bad news.

Q. I have gingivitis, what can i do to help rid of it?
i've been to the dentist who wouldn't clean my teeth (caffeine stains) because of swollen gums. he prescribed me corsodyl and i bought a new electronic toothbrush. i've only realised, through research online that i've been brushing my teeth too hard, my dentist never said anything about this which explains part of the problem that i've most likely been brushing away my gums. i know i need to floss as well but it's tricky with my gums receding it catches on my teeth. are there any other things i can do to help save my teeth and gums, like vitamins? if so which ones? i looked at my gums this morning, they don't look very nice and after using my new toothbrush, which i have been gentle with when brushing, my lower gums are stingy after using corsodyl. i am very worried as one tooth, the gums receded quite a bit as well. i want to save my teeth and finally get them cleaned, they look aweful.=(

"Also if you have receeding gums..."

Your dentist should have reffered you to a hygienist. If you have bad gums you should have regular hygiene visits - every 3 / 6 months or so. I'd say definately find out about seeing a hygienist, either through your dentist or a different dentist if necessary. Apart from that, flossing is good, but if you don't find it works for you you can get those little interdental brushes - called Tepe brushes. They're available in supermarkets and chemists and most dental practices. They come in quite a few different sizes. Also if you have receeding gums, another trick is to brush them in a downwards direction, if that makes sense. So that you're kind of pulling the gum down rather than pushing it up and increasing the recession.

Q. My husband will not go to a dentist.?
my husband's teeth are just looking terrible. i mean i dont think a dentist could save his teeth. you can see on the top teeth receding gums and the roots exposed.the bottom piled up tartar. i've told to put his hand over his mouth when he laughs. also don't smile as big. what can i do? he is just lucky he as no toothaches. i know he has that disease ofthe mouth and is dangerous. i refuse to kiss him because i have read and heard i could get it too. and of course he's not sexy to look at now. i hear this prblem can cause health issues he has now diabetes 2 which comes from his teeth and gums. he hasn't gone to a dentist since i met him. that was 1980. i notice in older pictures his teeth were straight. his teeth are crooked with gaps between his upper 4 front teeth. i'm his second wife his teeth were perfect for his first wife. no kidding this is the worse case i've seen on a person. please help me. he's a little chicken.

"Local anesthetics are great as well..."

The infection in his mouth can spread to other parts of his body, even his pancreas, possibly making him more apt to get the Diabetes... and the diabetes makes his body not heal as well so the infection in his mouth isn't going to get better on its own. The infection can spead to his heart and other organs, causing damage. The inflammation in his mouth is going to travel to other areas... and what is inflammation going to do to other organs? Make it harder for them to work. Inflammation in the blood stream can make the Blood Pressure increase. (like squeezing a hose with water running in it... the more 'inflammation' or squeezing, the higher the pressure) Inflammation is your body's response to something that isn't really suppose to be there. Yes, you can get that bacteria in your system from him. Don't share eating utensils with him. Kissing, well, that is at your own discretion. Other people can get it too if they share a soda pop or anything with him, so hopefully he's not sharing anything with anyone. If your body isn't in good health, then you are more apt to come down with something as well. Take care of you... eat healthy, go for a walk daily, take your vitamins, and drink water. He really needs to see a dentist. Sounds like he needs to visit a Periodontist. He can get nitrous and he will be in La-La land for awhile and not have a care in the world. I love the stuff. It's like having a few drinks but not having to use the restroom every other minute! :) Also, local anesthetics are great as well. Novacaine isn't used anymore. He would get, depending on his health history and medications, Mepivicaine, lidocaine, carbocaine, etc. They are in a different class of anesthetic than Novacaine. There are AMIDES and ESTERS. Amides are metabolized in the liver, like the three meds I mentioned above. Esters, like novacaine, are metabolized in blood plasma and are more likely to cause an allergic reaction to people. Cocaine is in that same drug category... so that's why some people die from using Cocaine for the first time, due to an allergic reaction (other than the fact that it's not a good thing for you to begin with!)

Q. What is the deciding factor in getting dentures?
i've been grinding my teeth and clenching my jaw at night for years. also, my mother wasn't the best parent growing up and i never even went to the dentist until i was an adult. i also never drank milk or anything high in calcium as a kid. so, now my teeth are a nightmare. i've tried my hardest to take very good care of my teeth now but, it seems like the damage is already done. i only have about 8 teeth that have not had an extensive root canal done on them. all my back teeth are mostly fillings and not actual tooth material. my gums are receding in a lot of areas. and quite frankly, i'm tired of going to the dentist. i have been going there once a week for the last 6 months literally and i still need work done! i'm also tired of the pain. it feels like it is worthless to try and save a little stub of tooth. i'd actually prefer if they ripped out all my back teeth and i got dentures. it would save a lot of pain and look better. so, how do you get a dentist to agree to this?

"Con side to this is that nothing works as well as your real teeth..."

Big chicken that I am I've had my bad teeth pulled one at a time when I've gotten a toothache. So now I only have 6 left and 2 are broken but don't bother me since they had root canals. Just tell the dentist you can't afford to have them fixed anymore. You could do like I have and have them pulled as they go bad or else have them pulled and get a denture. In my opinion partials are a waste of time. They have to attach to a front tooth and occasionally that one goes bad and you need to get a new partial. Plus they are hard to eat with. At least that's my experience. I've had much better luck with a full lower denture. The con side to this is that nothing works as well as your real teeth if you want to eat meat or nuts or apples. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Q. Can my root filled crown be saved? or is extraction the only option?
i had a lower back tooth root filled and a gold crown fitted when i was 24 (i’m now 43). i never had any problems with it at all, until about 12 months ago. during a check-up, my dentist said because my gums had receded, there was a small hole/gap at the bottom corner of the crown. this he tried to fill. a couple of months later, i noticed my gum was swollen and i was getting a nasty taste and smell in my mouth. because i had moved, i had to register with a new dentist. he done an x-ray and confirmed that i did have an infection under the crown. i asked if he thought i would loose the tooth and he said he didn't think so, giving me the impression the problem wasn’t too serious. he said all it needed, was for me to insert a ‘te-pe’ brush through the small gap on the gum line, to clean out under the crown every day. he showed me how to do this and he didn’t even give me any antibiotics. although i followed the dentists advice for about 3 months, i didn’t ever seem to completely get rid of the infection. even when it appeared better for a few days, it would come back. i went for another check-up this week and had to see a different dentist, as the first had left. i explained to her that i was still having problems with the crown infection. she didn’t really seem to examine it, apart from just tapping it. no x-ray this time or anything. she then read my notes that the first dentist had written, saying that i had an abscess and concluded that the tooth would have to be extracted. i was really surprised by this, because it seemed to contradict what the first dentist had told me. i asked if the gap/hole could be further filled, or sealed, or if a new crown could be fitted. she repeated that the only treatment was extraction. i asked for some antibiotics, but she said they wouldn’t help, because the infection would return. i came away feeling very confused and said i would like have a think, before having it removed. i don’t want to loose the tooth if there is any way it can be saved. just not sure what to do for the best. i’m sorry this is such a long question. i guess what i am really asking is, given that the tooth has previously been root filled, are there any techniques available that could still allow it to be saved? or is extraction the only option? does it sound like i have been given poor advice/care? and how could the advice be so contradictory? also, would i be better to find another dentist, or go back to the one who did the original filling before i moved? many thanks, any advice very gratefully received.

"And if it can be treated to save the tooth from extraction..."

To get all the answer to your questions, you should go visit an endoodontic specialist. I know the tooth had already been root canaled but there was a leak in the crown. The endodontic specialist will check the tooth if the root canal has to be re done. Now if the endodontic specialist says you have a gum infection, then you should go to a periodontist. Those two specialists will determine where the infection is coming from and if it can be treated to save the tooth from extraction . Its possible your dentists feels that the prognosis for that tooth of your is too bad so he said it would be better to pull it instead.
