What would happen if i used extra light ash blonde hair color on my medium brown hair?

in that case you`d have to leave it in longer than usual to make sure its well settled; if you mistakenly take it out too early then you`re most likely to end up with either an improper dye, blotches, or a seemingly burgundy color you may havent intented for...speaking from recent experience.

I used Loreal Excellence too and it was the worst mistake I`ve ever made!!!! It turned my bright blonde hair GREY! It is the crappiest hair dye I have ever used, and now I am having to spend hundreds of dollars at a salon to TRY and fix it.

just did it to mine. do not buy the loreal excellence. my hair was a light blonde. wanted to touch up the roots. dyed it. and its now a grey/green colour. have no idea what to do now. if i dye it again...my hair may fall out. not dyeing it.....social suicide. i cant really pull off the grey look...being 19.

Someone said: Anything with a high PH like head and shoulders will strip the color a bit and pull some of that grey out dish soap does the same thing. Go to sallys and get a gold based toner the girls can help you find the right toner, it is a deposit only color and will add shine and make your hair feel and look better not to mention cover the gray by adding gold tones to it. hope this helps.

If asome one observes his hair turning blue in colour while using ash blonde colour to die his hair, this so happens because the base colour of that blonde hair dye is blue since it will miss the warmth.To undo the effect, use red or orange base dye.Jack Perry

Which loreal ash blonde will get the orange out of my hair?

I`d not recommend ash, which is a green base. To combat orange, you need a blue-violet base. Try a toner, or Manic Panic`s Virgin Snow.

But then i found this answet I have light brown hair with red tones naturally. So I wanted my blonde hair back. After not having it for a few years. I went ahead and bleached it and ended up having blonde/orange hair. Well that wasn't gonna work. So I didn't want to bleach again and I wasn't going brown again so I thought I would give this 8 1/2 color a try. Hot diggity. A slight orange cast but all blonde. It went on even and my hair feels great. I must add my hair was in great condition before doing any of this. No green- no purple. Thanks again for the actual box color. $5 later and my hair is light and not a pumpkin. I can wait another month or so and then lighten just a tad more. But I'm almost there.

This has happened to me :( I had beautiful bright blonde hair and then i used that stupied Loreal lightest ash blonde to and now my hairs gone green/ grey. im only 14 and nothings working to get the stupid dye out. At school im getting teased and the hairdressers say theres nothing i can do. I`ve tried everything to strip the dye, baby oil (mineral oils meant to strip dye) Ketchup (meant to neutralise the green) Toners, obsessive washing. IM STILL GREY HAIRED! i also did a strand test to see if i could dye it back blonde and it had NO EFFECT at all! if any of you lot have a solution to how i can fix my hair please please email me; lucymoss_x@hotmail.co.uk if you know any good techniques for stripping out dye? xxxx

Someone said: Hi I don´t know if you have fixed your hair, but if your hair ever goes green and it is in reasonable condition, use a prelightener. It removes the colour. You don´t have to leave it on for the recommended length of time, just a couple of minutes will totally remove the colour green. You will then need to apply another shade of blonde to put the RIGHT shade for you back in. This has happened to many of my clients before and this is the way to go. If your hair is very dry, you can wet your hair, put shampoo on it and then apply the prelightener, it is slightly more gentle. It is very easy, just don´t choose a very blonde shade afterwards.
