Definitely!!! I am short and gain weight easily. There are 3 reasons for this. 1) you are smaller so you don`t need as many calories - so when you try to eat like everyone else...you gain! Typically you should only eat 1/4to 1/3 of restaurant portions given in the US! A 5"2 person shouldn`t eat over 1500 calories per day. If you do , you can be sure you HAVE gained weight! You don`t have to guess. 2) Weight you gain shows up faster on you because there are less places to put it!! Being short will cost you more on wardrobe than you ever imagined if you don`t keep your weight constant. I have a dream body wardrobe, a pudgy wardrobe, a veluptuous wardrobe and a fat wardrobe TIMES 3!!! for fall winter summer seasons. It`s not worth it. 3) weight stays on you more because it takes more effort to lose weight than a taller person. eg you 100pds ( 10pd) =110 tall person 150 pds ( 10pds) =160 A person that is 160pds has to move more weight and therefore will burn more calories per hour! Therefore think twice as long as a tall person would before eating that cookie because it will take twice as long to burn off!! The only way to lose weight when you are short is to jog every morning for 1hr and 1/2 before you eat and while your sugars are low, that way you burn fat directly! And eat small!

i once had a friend who was 5'11 and looked anorexic, but whenever i went over her house, she ate like a cow! i guess her metabolism is a hell of a lot more fiery than mine, but i'm around 5'2, and when i used to eat like her, you would have to roll me just so i could get around! xd! so do taller people have it easier than shorter people with their weight?

Not neccesarily easier, but it does show up less on a tall person. Think of it this way: a bigger car needs more gas to go. It also has a bigger gas tank that takes more gas to fill up. The weight has moe places to go on a tall person vs. a short person. Tall people also weigh more. Since your friend's 5'11", she probably looks very skinny at 150 lbs while you wouldn't look as thin being 5'2". In short, don't try to compare yourself to someone whos circumstances are totally different from your own. It's apples and oranges. Love yourself xx

Q. Poll: skinny people that cant gain weight and trying to find clothes. [{impossible]} or -not-?
okay so im 13 and the only place i can buy clothes is abercrombie, were the clothes are 59.50 for a pair of jeans. why cant normal places carry clothes to fit tall and skinny people. no offence but the world is revolving around bigger sized people with plus sizes, etc. but thats besides the point. yeah all bigger people say oooh i cant find clothes my life sucks. well if you think tiny people have it any better your wrong. abercrombie barely even fits me its still an inch big in the waist and being long enough to fit. i could wear a 12 slim but then they would be too short so im stuck with 14 slim were its an inch big :

okay im 18 years old 115 lbs, and i wanna lose atleast 3-5 more pounds, im only around 5'1 so im short, and short people just seem to show fat a lot easier..so if i eat a lil bit of dry chex cereal for about 2 weeks and some apples will i gain weight or lose it?? on top of that im working out and walking for an hour every night

Q. Any easy way to gain weight and grow quickly?
ok, so i'm 13(14 in a month) and i'm only like 4 9 and i weigh about 70lbs. i have no but or chest but i want to gain weight because when i try on pants, the legs are too short and the waist is too wide. its a horrible inconvenience for me and my mother and it takes forever to find pants that fit me but i won't have to pull up practically to me armpits. people say to drink a lot of milk, but i'm lactose intolerant. so does anyone know an easy way to gain weight and grow quickly that doesn't involve milk or something?

Q. Why do people constantly judge me because of my weight?
i am 14 right now, a size 16, 5'10 african american. there's this kind of disease or something where you grow super fast and no i do not eat a lot, so that stereotype of eating alot needs to end because not all of us have ate alot to gain weight like me, for instance. when i was 10, i was 5'0, i began getting breasts than all of a sudden i started to grow super fast by the time i was 11 i was 5'5, and that's when i kept gaining weight, all kids started to tease me, everyone told me to kick those bullies asses, but what did i do? nothing. i got in a fight with a girl when i was 11 and what did i do? i just let her hit me and she was shorter by the way, i guess that's how soft i am. everyone is really mean, my brother who has been staring at me since i was 12 and now i'm almost 15 and he's still doing it. have i talked to him? 3 times, 1 time 2 years ago, 2 times in april and he's still doing this. he's 26 right now and he still doing this, when will he ever grow up? people are just so mean and they stare so much that i hide in the car, i stay in the house. why do people judge when my own doctor told me i gained alot of weight because i grew so fast. i know to lose weight so don't tell me, it's easy saying the word, but actually doing it is the hard part.

Q. Does anyone else think people are trying "too hard" to lose weight?
now, i'm not a very scientific person, but i do know the easiest way to lose weight, that has worked for me since i was a kid. i was fat in my younger years 5-10, until i had surgery that effected my abilities to eat for 5-10 days. i lost about 30 pounds, and that was the day i realized, holy shit i was so fat. i vowed never to get fat again, so what i do is when i start to gain 1 to 2 pounds, i will stop eating for a short period, or eat less <--- (eat less) so, what i'm having trouble understanding is all these people around the world who say "they can't lose weight", or "it's soooo hard". not eating, seriously? hard? now you may counter me, by saying something like the metabolisms are different, but i swear to you. "if you do not eat, or eat less, you will indeed lose weight". now, as i said i'm not a science guy, so i don't really believe in metabolisms, but i do know this... "if you burn more energy, you need more energy". so, working out, running, crunches etc. is not always the best way to lose weight. sure, you can lose weight faster if you burn energy, and eat less, but if you continue you may crash. now, when you burn energy for long periods of time (say 1 month), your mind tricks you into thinking you still need to eat the same amount of food. wrong..eat less if you burn less. anyone, who thinks "if i don't eat, i will die...please read this, and get over yourself... "f you have water and a certain amount of physical stamina, you can survive for many days without food. in fact, you may be able to go as long as 60 days, depending on your specific situation and a number of factors." http://www.professorshouse.com/food-beverage/food/how-long-can-a-person-survive-without-food.aspx last, if you are having trouble fighting the urge to eat, then i would suggest replenishing your energy another way... ex. coffee, energy drinks, caffeine, or any other high sugar related item. you can actually gain energy off of drinks instead of foods. how does this help? well, the only reason you get the "hungry" feel is because your mind is telling you, that you need energy, by refilling it with sugar,soda, etc. you will not feel hungry for a while. just keep drinking :) for any of you thinking how retarded this all sounds, because you think it's very unhealthy, i am just going to say, you have only once chance to live, and you want something do not deprive of yourself of it. if you want to be fat go ahead, this is for people who want to lose some weight, and look as good as their neighbor. if i die from "unhealthy" eating, then so be it. at least my time on earth was filled with enjoyments, that others continue to deprive themselves from. in my sense, 10 happy years is greater then 20 unhappy years. my rant has ended.

Q. How to tone and lose weight in a short period of time?
i want to lose some weight and tone up in about a month and a half. i really hate disclosing my weight and stuff on here, but i would like accurate answers, and i want people to have an idea where i stand so i will. i am about 5 foot 5, maybe 6, and 130-135 pounds, so not overweight, but not really thin either. i have muscular legs (thighs), i used to figure skate and play soccer, and i would like them to be thinner. what is the best exercise for this? i find running hard, i cannot get the breathing right and i have asthma as well, i will do it for about 15 minutes at a time though, but i can walk really quickly forever. is that okay? what about on a treadmill and an incline, does the incline help or make a difference at all? or a bike? i find my thighs bulky so i am scared to do weight training on them in case they get bigger. i do belong to a gym so any ideas about what i could do there would be good. (machines, routines, etc) i want to tone my legs for sure, and my arms, and my stomach and back, just an overall more lean and thin look. i realize that i may gain muscle, thus not actually losing weight but looking better, which is my ultimate goal, i don't care so much about actual weight, i just want to look smaller and better in my clothes. any ideas about how to structure my eating would be good too... i really don't want to take an easy way out (pills/starving myself) but i really need to lose this weight, so if anyone has heard of pills that assist with weight loss, and by assist i mean you take them along with eating well and exercising on a regular basis, that would be awesome! thanks so much!
