How Does the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) Works The next Philippine elections slated this may will be historic, since for the first time ever Filipinos will be using automated voting process to determine their future leaders. But how this machine really works? Each clustered precincts is installed with PCOS (ballot-based voting and a counting machine). During the Election Day, the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI), consisting of three teachers, switches it on employing a security key. Security pins are used to assure that there is no entry or vote in the machine`s memory or to configure the machine. The specially marked ballot fed into the machine will be scan. Once the polling is over though, the votes will be counted by the machines and the election returns will be printed. Then a cable is connected to the machine to allow electronic transmission of election reports to the Comelec Central Server and Board of Canvasser. You'll find that there aren't any significant 'outer leg' muscles worth working on. The main muscles are in the quads (which as its name suggests, includes 4 muscles) and the hamstrings. So your best bet is to do exercises which use either the quads or the hammys and butt (which is pretty much joined to your outer leg anyways). You use it by rotating everything below the waist from side to side, while your upper body stays still. Not all gyms have these, because they are low-tech pieces of equipment and not considered 'glamorous'. You can see a version (or buy it for use at home) endorsed by Kirsty Gallagher in the Argos catalogue. This machine includes a vibrating platform, but its main use is for conditioning your waist. The illustrations show Kirsty using it WRONGLY; all of the movement should take place between your ribs and your hips. You can also get a very inexpensive turntable (usually called a 'twister' or something similar) without any handle. These are also under-rated, and can be very effective if you use them regularly. Some gyms have a machine called a 'Seated Oblique Twist', which provides resistance against a handle that you move sideways with both arms. These are not very common, because the machine is a bit specialised, and looks 'enclosed' and scary to most people. Learning to perform a PILATES move called a 'pelvic curl' or 'pelvic tilt' will help to make the twisting movement (on any of these machines)even more effective.

i plug it in to a function outlet and turn it on. since it isn't connected to a water supply, obviously no water can flow, which would be the obvious way to see if the machine works. it does seem to emit a very low level hum. how can i tell if this machine works? i wish to sell it and need to know if it works to sell it as functioning or as parts. it's just not located in a place where i can hook it up to water, btw. i understand that the water flowing through the machine is part of its functioning, but i'm willing to trust that the water will flow through the machine correctly if it powers up correctly and all of the parts move as they should.

Try this, set the water level to low, take a bucket and pour water in until it clicks and then see. Make sure your drain hose is not going to flood the area.

But raising frogs (that exhale carbon dioxide) may be safer (at home) and more pleasant if you enjoy amphibians, right?

drink lots of water, and eat regularly. don't starve yourself, because once you start eating again, you'll gain everything back, trust me. eat lots of fruits and veggies, and if you eat bread, make sure it's whole grain. white bread is pretty fattening. you can also eat lean meats, like fish, turkey and chicken breast. skip out on sweets, candy, sugary foods, chips, ice cream, cake, and cookies. if you feel hungry, but don't want to over eat, chew gum. it'll keep your mouth busy and it tricks yourself into thinking your eating. cut out ALL soda! if you stop drinking soda, it helps you out a lot! and don't forget to exercise! try walking, jogging, jump rope, dancing, bike riding and swimming. try exercising for 45-80 minutes a day. good luck!

I don't think you need a great deal of detail. Show her how the thread runs from the spool on top down thru all the different places to the needle. Then show her the bobbin and how that thread comes up. On a piece of fabric show her how the needle goes with the top thread down thru the fabric to catch the bottom thread and back up thru. I doubt if she wants a detailed account of the mechanics of the machine.
