| ![]() Powered by | ![]() Q. I have dark roots and dirty blonde hair, how do i dye it evenly to medium blonde? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Q. My hair is now 2 colors, blond and light brown. since i got pregnant my hair has come in a much darker blonde and there is an obvious growth line. i am not opposed to the new color, but what should i do to make it look more natural now? match the new color and dye my hair all the new darker blonde or add lighter blonde highlights to the darker roots to blend it a bit? thanks in advance!
"It depends on which color you like best..."
well, it depends on which color you like best. Either one you like go and use that as a highlight (or lowlight) and that should help even things out without going crazy.

Q. My roots are lighter than the rest of my hair. how do i fix this? my hair is a natural medium brown but picks up red. every 3 to 4 months, i do a full head application of medium ash brown to neutralize the red and add beige lights. i used a different brand but still same medium ash brown, but my roots turned out light brown. the rest of my hair is medium brown, with a light reddish cast. in short, instead of reducing the red, it brought it out. how can i blend my roots into my hair and neutralize the red at the same time? i don't mind going a shade darker to dark brown if need be, but i'm lost. i've been coloring my hair for years and never had this happen.
"Hair color is really bad for your hair..."
oh honey....i've so been there. first of all, stop! stop dying your own hair before you fry it, and it starts to fall out. secondly, have you ever noticed that when you go to a salon the stylist dyes only the roots? that's why the box's say, just touch up the roots. or, if you want a totally different hair color, they dye your roots (where all the new hair growth is) one shade, and the rest a different shade? they say/do this for many reasons. long story short, go see a professional. i use to do the same thing. i've tried dying it the way i think a professional would, etc. did it work, no. i had light brown roots, with dark brown hair. it looked so silly! so yeah, do get it professionally done. they'll know what to do, and how to fix it.
p.s. "drug store" hair color is really bad for your hair. try to stay away from it.

Q. I use a light brown 'non-amonia' hair colour and it is too dark. can anyone tell me what colour to choose? i use a "level 2" (non-amonia) hair colour. i chose one that is a light brown, to tone down the brassiness of the blonde chunks in my hair --- which is mixed with the grey i have, and to mix well with the brown hair chunks i have. i like it because there are hardly any roots to deal with.
the problem is it was too dark...even though it washes out in 24 shampoos. it's been 2 weeks now, and it's just getting where i like it now.
if i washed it out sooner in the application of it, it wouldn't last at all.
it's the lightest brown that brand makes---if i go lighter, it will lighten up the brown too much. should i use the lighter anyway?....and just let it lighten up the brown, just so it will blend the roots, & the grey with the blonde?
help please! my hair is thick and strong.
"Thing it is less harsh on your hair and gives less grow out appearance..."
i dont think the hairstylist knew what you meant by "level 2" -that is not a color(perhaps in another country it is?) it is the non-permanent type-washes out in 24 shampoos kinda thing It is less harsh on your hair and gives less grow out appearance You can either try a lighter color of the same-try a different brand perhaps- or go for a pro but then be prepaed to keep going back with lots of moolah. (money) There is also a product called "glazing" you put it on to refresh color as it fades and it is very temporary and easy to use-also gentle and wont fry your hair like permanent dye or bleaching(ahhh) You could use it in between
Or you can settle for dark-maybe add some red tones or go even darker. Its all a compromise til you can get your hair to grow out those chunks .Be patient and let it grow and keep using the brown you like best Next time dont color small portions so you wont have that chunky problem

Q. How do i blend in the roots in my hair? currently, my hair is a light blonde color. the last color i used says it's a 9 1/2 nb, level 3, and permanent. i haven't dyed my hair in one or two months. i am trying to get back my natural hair color, which is a grey, ashy blonde at the roots, and a lighter, less ashy blonde at the tips. currently, the color i have isn't that far away from the color naturally at my tips. but, my roots are naturally darker, so whenever i don't dye my hair, my roots seem worse than they actually are. does anyone know a good way to blend in my roots and dye without re-dying my hair? and does anyone know a good way to make my hair grow faster? i am trying to grow my hair out as well, and the faster it grows, the less time my roots will look bad.
it's about this color at the roots: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://quartz.he.net/~carlas/catalog/images/attributes_wigs_margu_large/16h_lrg.jpg&imgrefurl=https://quartz.he.net/~carlas/catalog/index.php%3fmain_page%3dpage%26id%3d16&usg=__zjali_tlbdr1qlaxz24dfmgfx8g=&h=300&w=300&sz=64&hl=en&start=6&sig2=fv4hlsvlchbpcnsinm7hra&um=1&tbnid=x3ipc1zbhie3vm:&tbnh=116&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3fq%3dlight%2bash%2bblonde%26hl%3den%26um%3d1&ei=kia-s67_f6him8ta1k4c
my tips are naturally this color: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://quartz.he.net/~carlas/catalog/images/attributes_wigs_margu_large/16h_lrg.jpg&imgrefurl=https://quartz.he.net/~carlas/catalog/index.php%3fmain_page%3dpage%26id%3d16&usg=__zjali_tlbdr1qlaxz24dfmgfx8g=&h=300&w=300&sz=64&hl=en&start=6&sig2=fv4hlsvlchbpcnsinm7hra&um=1&tbnid=x3ipc1zbhie3vm:&tbnh=116&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3fq%3dlight%2bash%2bblonde%26hl%3den%26um%3d1&ei=kia-s67_f6him8ta1k4c
ok first you can't blend without using any color you can highlight your hair so that some strands are lighter in your root area they aren't so hard to grow out or you can match your natural color and the middle of your hair probably need to fork up some money and pay a professional for this but they can do different colors at once down your hair to match it up to your nat and make it one solid color if you want to do it yourself good luck

Q. How do i fix my hair color? my roots turned orange? i have dark brown hair naturally with bleached partial highlights. i put in a all over light blonde permanent hair color and my roots turned orange and it didn't do much to the dark brown below my highlights. my highlights got even lighter of course. i need to fix my roots to blend with the rest of my hair, i have been using a blue violet shampoo but it hasn't done much. help!!!
"The oil near your roots reacted with your blonde dye to..."
If it's only your roots...
It may be fixed by dying over it with a cool tone such as Ash blond as opposed to a warm or neutral blond. The oil near your roots reacted with your blonde dye to create a brassy color. Ash will neutralize the very warm orange and balance it out.
If you have orange everywhere...
I'd recommend a professional unless you are willing to dye it back to your natural hair color. The darker dye will eventually fade so you will have to keep dyeing it every month or two until the damaged part grows out. I've done this myself, don't just bleach it again unless you are eager to be bald! This means that the color you used was too many shades lighter than your natural hair. You can probably use it for thick highlights to get the overall look you want or pay a pro to dye it for you.
Either way...
The best advice would be to learn to love your real hair color. It will save you money and keep your hair shiny and healthy and strong.

Q. How do i get dark hair light again??? okay so like a while ago like 4 months ago i dyed my hair dark brown with using clairol nice n easy but my hair ended up looking black instead, so i didnt dye it for two months but you couldnt see my roots once they grew in because they blended in... so when i went to get my hair dyed at a salon only the roots were actually dyed and the rest of my hair stayed black! so my roots look a lighter shade and the rest looks black!! i have not been able to lighten it since! what can i do to lighten it and to even out the roots and the rest of my hair? what if i dye it like a reddish color? would that lighten the darkness??
"Have dark hair and i dyed it black and it took probably like 6..."
either bleach it and die it (which will most likely damage your hair), cut it, or let it grow out. it will probably take a while for it to get light again. I have dark hair and i dyed it black and it took probably like 6 months for it to return to its color, all i did was let it grow out then cut the tips off and viola it was back to its original color!

Q. Hair roots? i have blondish hair but my roots are always dark, no matter what. a classmate made a comment that i should get my roots "done" but they have always looked this way. i dont know...do you think dark roots on a blonde look trashy? my hair isnt platinum blonde its kind of dark. and when i dont straighten it, the roots just blend in kind of. should i die all my hair to the color of my roots? even when i didnt used to die my hair, my hair was dark at the roots and got lighter on the way down. does anyone elses hair do that?
theres 3 questions really lol
"My co-worker has blonde hair naturally..."
here's a trick: grab a handful of hair and put it all together...is the color darker? I think your roots are generally darker in general though, just because the hair is much closer together and creates the illusion of 'darkness'
My hair is a light brown but on the top it definetly looks darker, I mean you could dye it but frankly I wouldn't bother. If you're hair was super super blonde, platinum as you put it, then I might dye it. My co-worker has blonde hair naturally, doesn't dye it or anything and she's got darker roots. I wouldn't worry about it.

Q. I want to go a light golden brown color, will this look okay with my roots? so, i really wish i hadn't dyed my hair blonde... but oh well. my hair is naturally a dark blonde color. and kind of brown at the roots. (my hair is dyed now a light blonde color though. not bleached though) when i look at the brunette colored hair and then the dark blonde, they are like a shade or 2 off. will this blend in well with my roots?
i know it won't match exactly. but i really want to go brunette. also should i go to a salon?
"I don't think that it would look too bad with the roots..."
I don't think that it would look too bad with the roots. It should mix in just fine and when it does grow out, only some people will really notice. You should go to a salon. Some people like settling for home dieing, but I would rather not take the chance of ruining your hair all together. :)
Hope this helped.
