Q. What's the best option for bleached hair to look more natural?
i natuarally have long, blonde (level 8/9), straight hair. i recently started having it bleached entirely, but hate it. i would like to remain platinum blonde, but with more definition/depth. to correct it, my new stylist decided to dye it a light/medium brown from the ears down and the top was bleached again. the new brown came out a very grey/green ashy color (the stylists mistake in the process). i'm afraid to bleach over the ashy color, for fear my hair will break off, plus, i"m right back to where i started. would a golden blonde dye (weaved in) fix the ashy color as well as give the bleached top more depth? is golden blonde a good choice with a blue/white platinum blonde? lastly, how soon can i re-dye my bleached hair? i used to have the stylist use bleach, weaved in. it kept a very natural look about it.

try sheer blonde and also put tomato puree on it for 5 mins a day till its the right colour i did this at home and dyed it brown now i know this is waht i should have done wait 2 to 3 weeks i know its hard but your hair may snap off try to get a bit more stength in it first

Q. Which color should i use?
i am a natural medium brown hair girl. i have had to dye my hair every 6 weeks to cover grey. when my hair grows out and i can see the roots i love the color i see. i have tried everything from professional to the unpopular dye in a box and it always ends up turning orange after a couple of weeks. has anyone ever had this problem and what did you do to correct it? i tried an ashier color tone once and my hair turned green!!! go natural!!!! i am only 30 years old. thanks to my dad's genetics i would look like i am 50 i have so much grey! i have gone to "professional salon" more then once. same thing happens.

"It generally won't cover grey hair but it will cover the dyed (orange..."

Do not, I repeat, do not dye your hair black. It looks horrible on most people and is extremely hard to remove. If you've been dying your hair at home for the last while, that could be the reason it's turning orange. So many people put the hair dye all over their hair every time they dye it when all that needs to be dyed is the roots. Don't put the dye through the rest of your hair until the last five minutes of processing....it's called refreshing the colour. If you keep adding dye to already dyed hair you will get a horrible colour....as you may have found out. I recommend you go to a professional stylist and get them to colour it for you. The salon dyes are head and shoulders above the garbage that is sold in drug stores, plus they can customize the exact colour, store brands are you get whatever they decide to put in the box. I would still use a bit of ash in your colour but not what is sold in the stores. A salon can dictate the exact amount of ash to put in your specific dye, store brands can't and the one you used had too much for your colour type. If you tried a salon and were not happy with their results, go to a different one....talk to the stylists and make sure you're getting one who is very experienced in doing colour....if you're not comfortable, go to a different salon until you find one that you feel confident in. Good Luck! Additional Details: The only other thing I can think of is to put a semi-permanent on your hair after a few weeks, this would have to be the same shade as the permanent colour but it has no peroxide in it so it only coats the hair and will wash out after 15-20 shampoos. It generally won't cover grey hair but it will cover the dyed (orange) hair. This is a lot of colouring you have to do but it should help. Other then that, you're S.O.L.

Q. Greenish/gray tones in hair after dying.?
i dyed my medium blonde with honey and wheat highlighted hair with a medium golden blonde dye. the color is nice other than you can see where the lighttest highlights are they cast a grayish tinge. i called the help line and they said to put head and shoulders on my dry hair and let it sit for 30 mins 3 nights in a row to fade out the color and remove the asheyness. she then suggest using a copper blonde to correct. i don't really want to do that. copper frightens me. i just like warm golden tones not red. i can't just color over this ashy mess either because it just drives the grayish green deeper in the hair. what would happen if i get most of the ashey color out and then use natural match in 7n. a level 7 (dark blonde) neutral. do you think that the color will work or will i end up with somthing frightening.... yeah yeah i know. don't color at home next time.

Your natural pigments came out. Go to Sally's beauty supply. They will pick tsomething to fix it.

Q. Going blonde from brown -- hair's really damaged. what do you think?
i used to be blonde, until i started going to an aveda stylist. to make a long story short, i ended up green/grey blonde, and toner would not even fix it because my hair was so damaged. for a color correction, i had my hair dyed (all one color) a red-brown, to counter the ashy green tones in my hair. i used a filler and everything, and it turned out great. very warm. my question is.... can i go back to blonde again without the green grey tones coming back? since my hair is brown with red undertones now, have i corrected this problem? or, because my hair is damaged, will the green tones come back if i lighten it? thanks so much in advance!!!

Well this is a very usual occurence as far as wanting to go back blond. If you aren't already using professional products then please invest in them. They are worth it and for the amount of money you put into the services you should protect that investment as well as your hairs' health. In addition to prof. shampoo and conditioner you will require a leave in treatment, a reconstructor that adds protein and moisture and products to protect against heat styling if you're blow dry/flat iron styling. Once you've had some in salon treatments and then make this investment, then and only then can you attempt another chemical service. I WOULD NOT consider going blond all over , but only had some highlites for now. Because yes you will still have those green/grey undertones to lift thru. FYI that could have been eliminated with a protein and salt combination. It happened to me once!
