"It will make your hair look mare shiny if they are ashy..."

Use a shampoo which protects the color. You can rinse your hair with cold water mixed with vinegar. It will make your hair look mare shiny if they are ashy. Or you can use ash hair dyes on and off.

This answer closely relates to:
  • Colored hair too ashy

Q. How do you get ashy color out of your hair at home without going to a salon?
i got my hair colored a little bit darker. it is usually a lighter blonde shade. my hair stlyist used an ash color when she sliced it and now half of my hair looks like an ashy gray color. i cant afford to get it done again and dont want to damage it anymore. what should i do?

"The stylist who did the color should fix your hair at no charge..."

Krazy Hair is right. The stylist who did the color should fix your hair at no charge. Speak to the owner of the salon if necessary. I'm a stylist/colorist for 9 years and would much rather fix a color for free than lose a client!

Q. What if i use a ashy hair color even though i am a warm?
i want to color my hair brown but i dont want any gold in it. can i use an ashy color to cover up any gold?

"You should match your hair color with your skin tone if..."

Yes you can. You should match your hair color with your skin tone if your skin tone is cool, you use ashy colors, if it is warm you use golds.

Q. I bleached my overly colored hair yesterday from dark ashy color to a blondish color but now its a bit orangey?
i tried dying my hair wid a light ash blonde color but it din help much i also tried a lightest ash blonde still no difference as i am a indian/asian my base is dark so its difficult lightening it and wheneva i bleach my hair if u look from close its a bit artificial shiny type how to get rid of dat cuz u caucasian guyz get such a natural lookin blond even if yáll have a dark base.

"Take a few colorings to turn it blonde..."

Because your hair is naturally dark it will take a few colorings to turn it blonde , but don't forget that bleach isn't really that good for you hair, just keep at it and don't worry it will turn out the way you want it, just takes time.

Q. How do you get rid of ashy color in bleached hair?
my hair is natually black. i bleached it blonde which turn it into a golden orange blonde so i was told to get a medium ashy blonde level 8 color to get rid of my golden orange blonde. now my ashy, it look very gray. what can i do to get rid of that ashy color without bleaching my hair again? can i go lighter? or should i go darker? any advice will help. thanks!!

"It is violet.purple color..."

the normal thing to take the 'red' or 'orange' away from the bleached her is to use the medical 'gentian violet' used for cuts. (when put on cotton, it is violet.purple color). One needs to rinse hair after washing it, with proportion of a liter of water with 1 to 3 drops of the liquid (too much will make hair too silver going to blue :-) ) Now that you have the 'mousy' hair if I were you I would leave them for a while.. because of the bleach the went gray however as your hair became pores now, it will not keep the colour for long and will come back to the 'oranger' sooner than you think. Especially if you wash them often or put niamy conditioner. Otherwise use natural thing as lemon, and just remember to condition it well. Lemon naturally strips the color. Another option use cream Peroxide for a very short time!!! But preferably dont use a permanent colour and the two weeks things that wash out!! as you will have no hair left. Or put peroxide on some strics only for highlights.. :-) Good luck

Q. Hair color -how can i get an all over light ashy blond hair color instead of golden.color?
ive been bleaching and dying my for about 2 years and have tried everything to achieve this color. my natural hair color is a dark auburn color. i have bleached it and then dyed (permanent dye) it ash blonde but the golden color always comes back about a week. the only thing that works but is only temporary is claroil born blonde but it washes out in 2 showers. i have bleached my hair as close to white as i can get it to take out as much of the gold color as i can. but it always has that tint of gold on it? is this a problem related to being a redhead? i've heard its hard to bleach red hair. any suggestions would be helpful....has anyone used the bleach that is tinted blue or purple to reduce the reddish color?

"And invest in a good blonde hair shampoo..."

Blue based bleaches don't make much of a difference, so what your doing is probably the best you can do. You need to apply your toner (aka ash blonde) maybe once a fortnight, and invest in a good blonde hair shampoo. These are coloured violet or purple, and tone the hair during each wash by depositing pigments to mask the gold. In fact, try a pale violet blonde hair dye/toner instead. as: Violet neutralises Gold Ash neutralises Orange

Q. What semi-permanent hair color should i use to turn my ashy brown hair to a rich brown color?
my hair is relaxed and i don't want to get a color lifter because i heard that it will be too much chemicals. i have dark brown hair that has been dyed black before but its really ashy. i want a rich brown so it wont look so ashy against my skin tone. any ideas on a hair color?

Look for any medium brown colour. Don't get a really cheap one because they never go the way you want then to. :) xx

Q. My natural hair color mideam dark brown i recently colored it ashy blond from revlon it turned orange help! ?
my natural hair color id mideam dark brown i recently colored it ashy blond from revlon it turned orange help! what should i do to go to mideam to dark brown back agian showuld i buy borwn hair dye to color over it or black hir dye or should i leave it would it get darker in a month> it ais a parmenyt hair color is there a shampoo or something that it well remove the orange please help thankyou need oyur hep so much please only answer if u experiened this before thankyou again

"It will strip all the color of your hair..."

Never do blond yourself!! Really what you should have done was, gone to the store, and bought a stripper, now you have to go to the hair salon to buy this. It is blue and comes in a package or a tub, depending on how much hair you have. okay, then you put that on your hair, it will strip all the color of your hair, basically platinum blond, then you put the blond color on it. thats just to redo it though, if you are trying to tone down the orange, go to a hair place, like one that sells dye, and such and ask them for a toner, or just walk in and they will just eyeball your hair and tell you what you need. Good luck!

Q. My hair has turned an ashy green colour! how do i fix it?
i coloured my hair with 7g (in an effort to go slightly darker) and now the bottom half of my hair is this terrible greyish green color. how can i fix this?

"This will remove any impurities or color clinging to the outside (coating..."

the best thing to do is go to a salon and get a malibu treatment, this will remove any impurities or color clinging to the outside (Coating) the hair, then have the stylist tell you what to do next. Do not attempt to redo it, it could get worse, you will pay more to get it corrected and ruin your hair.
