in that case you`d have to leave it in longer than usual to make sure its well settled; if you mistakenly take it out too early then you`re most likely to end up with either an improper dye, blotches, or a seemingly burgundy color you may havent intented for...speaking from recent experience.

Matters on the hair color you have- if you have dark hair and want to go blonde- to real light blonde you would use a Vom 40-50 and if you want to just dye your hair you would use Vom 10 and sometimes 20 now if your hair is med- and want to go dark you would use 20 though... I have dyed my hair light blonde and white a lot so this is something that I would know. You want to always make sure though you do use the right number of VOM though. If you go to Sallly`s hair place to buy the VOM- you can always ask them to help you out and they will tell you which number of VOM you would want to be using. Your hair go ginger because you had brown hair or you dyed your hair brown before. Thats why when you used blonde, it turned into ginger. Now you should go to a salon and consult them what to do. A little knowledge is always dangerous!

When dying your hair, all the chemicals from the dye mix up, and the outcome is not all the time the most wanted one. I understand that you dyed your hair, after bleaching, with brown colorant, but it turned ash gray. The best thing you can do is to apply a darker color now, or you may try some highlight stripes.
