I'm sure there are sites available for free psychological counseling, but I wouldn't use them. Who knows if the person you're talking to even graduated from college? Therapy costs can vary dramatically. Your best bet is to look through the phone book for a counselor, and see if your health insurance will help cover the cost. If you are a student, almost all schools will have a counselor on staff that you can generally see for a set number of times for free (and if you need more meetings, the cost is generally still pretty low). If you're feeling suicidal or are suffering from abuse, keep in mind there are a number of free hotlines to call that offer trained professionals to speak to as well . If you live in a fairly populated area, there may be programs in place paid for by the city that specialize in helping people out as well. Basically, I'd only go to a free website as a last resort, and even then I'd take any advice with a grain of salt (says the girl answering questions on a free website...)

I don't believe that you will find a professional who will give you personal assistance and be willing and able to understand your unique needs and problem sets without requiring some form of pecuniary remuneration. Don't look for free. Look for effective.

Your problem is not caused by what surrounds you, but what you make yourself think it does. Your having internal conflict. Try calming down and think of everything thats happening slowly. Think of every logical answer. Sharing the problems with someone else is a good idea for support.

I have not heard of any free on-line counselors of any kind, except for people who say "free" but actually want to "sell" you something. That "something" is often religion, especially of the evangelical or fundamentalist type. They may never ask for money...but they wouldn't mind it if you would accept Jesus and save your soul! There is still a question among professionals whether it is ethical to conduct psychotherapy over the Internet; they believe it's necessary to be face-to-face with a client.
