Well, unfortunately it can take up to seven years to adopt. BUT here are some things you can do to speed things up and adopt a newborn quickly . I am going to assume that you want a domestic newborn baby. I am not an expert, but have read up on a few things. First you need to get a "home study" done to assess you and your husband as a couple. Get as many copies as you can and give them to every good adoption agency you can find. Then email them regularly (every couple weeks) or call to let them know you are still eager and very interested to adopt. Develop a rapport, so to speak. Other things you can do is write letters or visit guidance counsellors at schools, priests, pastors and anyone who may be in the position to refer you as a couple to a troubled teen who may be opened to giving their baby up for adoption. You may have more success if you are open minded to an open adoptions where the birth mother can have a certain amount of contact with your child. You will need to research all the parameters to find out if you are comfortable with that.

The easist way is to NOT adopt this baby. You cannot do it LEGALLY without an attorney for you and you CANNOT do it ETHICALLY without an attorney for the mother as well. Which, again, ethically, you should NOT pay for...or it becomes a conflict of interest. You also CANNOT know, nor can this expectant mom, that she is ready and willing to place her child. She will Not be able to determine this until after the baby is born. Birth changes everything. It sounds like you think that mothers just love giving away their babies....me thinks you need to do some more research into the realities of adoption loss for mothers and also for the adoptees. It's not a cake walk for anyone at all.

If you are going to have your own kids you will have already experienced the baby stages. Why not adopt an older child? You could find a child to match your oldest biological child in age so they could grow up as best friends. There are tons of wonderful children in foster care who could use parents.

It depends what you consider hard. It's easier than trying for 3 years to conceive! Domestic, private adoption costs around $20,000 and the average wait for a newborn is 1.5-2 years. If you will only consider a white (not bi-racial or black) newborn, then the wait is often longer. Adopting through your county's foster care system can be quicker, if there are children waiting, but it can also be more heart-wrenching if you have a child that's not freed for adoption and then it goes back to live with parents/family. If you're wanting to adopt an older child, that can happen quicker. There is no definitely easy/quick way to get a baby. Search the web for adoption agencies in your state. I suggest staying away from "adoption facilitators" because they're just a middleman and often a waste of money. Adopting internationally, from China or Guatemala or European countries, can be a good option for some people if you don't want the child to ever find/know it's birth parents and you want a more scheduled timeline of when you would get the baby. International babies usually are older when you adopt them (8 months and up) and can have emotional/medical problems that domestic babies usually don't have. But you have to want to bring a child from that culture into your home. it's all about what you want. Oh, and there are adoption grants and loans out there to help you pay. And the $10,000+ adoption tax credit, as well. Still not cheap, but it helps.

Yes, there are many children out there that need a home. It's harder to get a baby thought and you have to be financially stable and take classes. It's a lot of work to adopt. You can't just go out, like you wold to the store.

My cousin can not adopt because he exceeded the weight limit to adopt a child. So they ended up adopting a little boy from Russia, It is cheaper and a whole lot easier then adopting here. I was adopted when I was nine...my family started looking for a little girl around the age of my brother...so about 2 weeks after picking me out of 150 different girls they came and met me and about a year after that I moved in and then they legally adopted me two years later...but my baby brother on the other hand was adopted within 2 days of us getting taken from our parents...it all depends... and believe me when I say...dont EVER keep the adoption a secret...it is the worst thing you could possible do...it could come back and bite you in the rump when your adoptee is older... you will not regret it one bit...love that child as if he/she were your own flesh and blood...dont ever let that child know that you feel weird about punishing or taking control...you are the mother and that is the way it needs to be... and be very careful if you get an older child...they can sometimes be a huge handful...take my elder sister for example...she was put in Juvy for 5 years...some of the older kids know what happened and why, so they resent their biological parents....
