How long does it take for a dog to recover from pancreatitis and what is the best treatment for this? - My dog was put on an prescription dog Science Diet C?D over a year ago and 4 days ago developed pancreatitis. The vet ( a new one since we just moved to a new state) said it was from the high fat in that Rx dog food and she should have only been on that food until her urinary infection cleared up and not as a daily food forever. It`s been 4 days now and she is now drinking alittle bit of water and eating alittle bit of rice. She is still on pain meds and is tender when touched. She never vomited or had diarrhea. She is pitiful however. How long before this clears up and she is back to normal? Is there anything else we can do for her to speed and promote her recovery?
