yes, you ablsolutely should take probiotics every day. If you are allergic to milk products like yogurt, you can try a soy based or coconut juice based kefir drink. They sell them at your local health food store. other than that, pills will do. Also the probiotics that come from fresh uncooked vegetables cannot be overstated! Kim Chi is also a great side dish with oriental food if you can get to your local chinese shop. Start will less spicy versions. This way, if you eat a little every day you will build up a healthy lining to your stomach to counteract antibiotics , anti-inflammatories like IB profin etc that make holes in the lining of your intestines and make you susceptable to a whole host of sicknesses and yes, FOOD ALLERGIES!

Q. Can the one a day vitamins or probiotics cause overweight in already well fed kids, 7 and 9?
my friend gives her children 7 and 9 vitamin supplements( all vitamins) and probiotics for the past 2 years. she feeds them healthy and well, but they are overweight. i was just wondering if by doing that (giving them extra supplements since they are well fed)it can cause them to be overweight. thank you.

Unless she's using supplements with a lot of sugar in them, the answer is definitely no. You get overweight by eating more than you need to for your level of exercise & metabolism. Extra vitamins won't add to that. In fact, if you take vitamin supplements that you don't need because your diet is really well-balanced, you will just pee out the extra vitamins. And probiotics are not absorbed into the body. They work right in the gut (and they can be very effective!)

Q. Is it safe to take probiotics, 5-htp & liquid chlorophyll in the same day? i take em at different times of day
hi i just started adding liquid chlorophyll to my daily supplement regimen and i was already taking garden of life primal defense ultra probiotics and natrol 5-htp 100 mg. i currently take 3 capsules of the primal defense ultra (one capsule before each meal) and i take 1 capsule of the 5-htp during dinner. i recently started taking 2 tablespoons of liquid chlorophyll and i usually just take that when i remember so time of the day for the chlorophyll varies. the probiotics i'm taking for digestive issues, the 5-htp for anxiety and the chlorophyll to help reduce bad breath and body odor. so does anyone know if it's safe to take all 3 of these supplements all in the same day?

Q. I've had digestive issues for years so i take probiotics daily, but can one take too many probiotics in a day?
i've tried many different brands but none has helped much at all. i'm currently using garden of life's primal defense. the instructions on the back of the box says to begin with 1 capsule a day and then gradually increase to 1 capsule 3 times per day. i've already worked up to the 3 a day, but even this amount hasn't helped with my digestive issues much (the issue is chronic constipation). i've gone to see several doctors, including a gastroenterologist, and they haven't found anything wrong so i don't know what else i can do to get rid of this issue. here's a list of what i've tried or am trying to get rid of it: - garden of life's primal defense (3 capsules daily) - i've cut out all dairy, wheat and sugar - this is something new i just started a little over a week ago - no fried foods - i drink lots of water a day - i exercise 4 times a week (walking on treadmill or turbojam) - i've totally cut out junk food - i snack on popcorn, fruits & vegetables only what else can i do

i like using probiotics to repopulate the healthy intestinal bacteria that die off when antibiotics are used. but my question is, how much and how long does it take to really put things back in balance? i know that a sign of balance is no yeast infections and good digestion... but those things, for a woman, can also be dependent on the monthly cycle, stress, etc. some people use probiotics every day; that's fine too, but i'm curious to know what is necessary to replenish and get your system balancing itself out again.

probiotics is for everyone!! you should always be on them if you are on antibiotics too. im sure they are good for menstrual cycle too : ) but you dont have to take them everyday...maybe like 1-3x per week and eveyday if your sick or think youre going to be getting sick. i hope that helps!
