Q. How accurate are fertility monitors?

Fertility monitors look for something known as Luteinizing hormone, or LH for short. Luteinizing hormone is always present in a woman`s system. However, around 24 to 48 hours before you ovulate, your body will experience a surge in your LH levels. It is this surge of LH levels that actually triggers your ovaries to release an egg, and for you to ovulate. When you are ovulating is, obviously, the time of your cycle that you are most fertile, and when you are most likely to be able to conceive. Fertility monitors are somewhere around 99% accurate when it comes to detecting this LH surge. If you are monitoring ovulation for several days, and there has been no LH surge, it is likely that you have not ovulated. If this is the case, you will probably want to use another fertility monitoring kit to watch for the time when you do ovulate.

One can buy Ovacue fertility monitor at any online shopping store like ebay etc . The cost of ovacue fertility monitor is around three hundred dollars but it is definitely worth the price paid . Second hand Ovacue fertility monitor can also be available at ebay at a lower price .

Q. Are fertility monitors covered by insurance?

If you want to know what your insurance covers, then it is best to just call your insurance company and ask them if they cover your fertility monitor. Your doctor can also give you a prescription for an ovulation monitor. Fertility monitors are also available to the public as well. The ovulation monitors can cost more than a hundred dollars same with the refills for the equipment for the monitor and some insurance companies do pay for it, which is really a good news for all of us. So, go check with your insurance coverage now.

Q. Are clear blue fertlity monitors easy to use and do they work?

Yes they are very 99% correct and very easy to use..Just folow all instructions on the pack. You may calculate our ovulation day based on the your cycle. For me, I only need to use one stick per month to confirm my LH surge and see the :) smily on it. Buy one if you can afford! Good Luck!

Q. Fertlity monitors how good are they and which one to buy in us?
how good do fertility monitors work and which one is best and are the difficult to read like ovulation predictors if youve tried this and got pregnant please share your experience me and my hubby are trying to up our chances thanks

The best fertility monitor is Clearblue. It is expensive but you can usually get them at least half-price off ebay. Just be sure the person has cleaned it. You can get instructions to reset the monitor for your own use on the internet. The only catch to using a fertility monitor is you must be pretty regular. Also they are expensive as I said before. If money is an issue you can use ovulation predictor kits which are fairly cheap since you will only need one pack a month. They are also not meant for women with irregular periods. Your periods need to be regular like 24-40 days I think. I do think the clearblue fertility monitor is a good deal because you can buy it on ebay and then resell it afterwards on ebay and get most all your money back if not all of it. I did use the clearblue fertility monitor but I was irregular so it didn't work everytime for me.

Q. Clearblue easy fertlity monitor???
just wondering what your thoughts on this are? would you recommend it? have you had success using it? i just wanted some feedback before (and if) i purchase it. thanks!

YES!!! I would definitely recommend it for everyone TTC. It tells you when to start testing for ovulation, tells you your high fertility days, tells you when you ovulate, and tells you when to be expecting your period or a positive pregnancy test. It's pricey, but a great investment, and well worth the money. It learns your cycle, and takes a lot of the guess work out of everything for you. It helps you become familiar with your ovulation pattern, which helps you detect your ovulation signs, and helps you learn the length of your luteal phase. It told me I'm ovulating today. The first month I used it, it didn't say I ovulated, which is normal because it can take one cycle to learn your body. But I don't think I ovulated last month anyways. I have been so irregular the last few months, and have been ovulating super late in my cycle, as I used to ovulate right on time days 13 or 15 every month. I would have never known I was ovulating if it wasn't for the monitor. I love it, and I'm sure you will too. It really does help! Go for it, and lots of luck and baby dust for you!!!

Q. How do i know if i ovulate at all?
ttc for 2 yrs... hubby got lower than average motility... but has since stopped smoking etc etc beginning to think its me.... (already have a 9yr old daughter) ive been using clearblue fertlity monitor & i get 3 highs, 2 peaks every month, so im obviously getting an lh surge.... but how do i know if i am actually ovulating, because i was told that you can have an lh surge but not ovulate. any ideas?

Hi. There are several ways to tell or help you tell...The first, and probably most obvious is the cervical mucus. Charting your BBT will also help you tell. They do have over the counter test that are suppose to help you determine this as well. As for the previous posting saying somthing like "if you get regular periods you ovulate" This is completly false. I have a condition where I do not ovulate on my own, but I have regular periods. The misconception is this: You can ovulate with or with out regular periods, and you can have a period with or without ovulation following. I would recommened talking to your OBGYN or a fertility specialist. Most Specialist will see you after 1 yr of TTC. Good luck and Baby Dust to you.

Q. Yeast infection and getting pregnant???
i have been ttc for almost 2yrs. i frequently have annoying yeast infections, and i wanted to know if that lowers my fertlity. last month, i started using the clearblue fertlity monitor and preseed and still no luck. i'm going to try this again this month using both products. an answer to my question would be greatly appreciated along with any of your ttc stories and advice. thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldnt use an over the counter yeast infection kit, that might lower your chances. I read and heard about a herbal method you might want to try, Garlic. YOu actually insert a clove in your vagina, and leave it for a day and it will fix the levels in your body. ALso take a look at what your eating. You shouldnt get that many yeast infections you are eating too many processed or raw foods. Google search my method and what to eat. Good luck

Q. Can you have a period just 5 days after ovulating?
i detected my lh surge using cb fertlity monitor. we bd twice that day and the following day. 5 days later i started bleeding (more than spotting) but all brown it lasted 3 days mainly on wiping but a little on pad also. (i have not had a period since the birth of my first daughter 9 months ago-just weaning from breastfeeding!) today i'm 13 dpo and still bfn :-( whst is going on?! any stories or advice appreciated as i'm going bonkers. (i've even used the cheap internet stips-extra sensitive and all i get are evap lines). not sure if it's at all related but my knees are incredibly sore/stiff could this be an early pregnancy sign? alot of info i know but clutching at straws! (took 3 years to conceive first time round-didn't think i'd become obsessive 2nd time round) it must have been an odd period, as i'm now 17 dpo and still bfn. if it was implantation at 5-8dpo surley i'd be producing hcg by now?? very frustrated. please reply with advice or stories! sorry for tmi but i have yellowy snot like cm, diarrohea, my whole body is achy like flu. yesterday morning on blowing my nose i had blood. aren't these are early pregnancy signs? no?

it's supposed to take a week for the fertilised egg to travel down and implant into the uterus, then some get implantation bleeding. this may be different for you. don't think you had your period just 5 days after ovulating, period's normally two weeks after ovulation. go to your doctor, they'll be able to do tests to put your mind at rest. good luck!
