My hair turned a neon purplish grey also when I dyed my blonde hair light ash blonde using L`oreal Excellence. Excellence my @$$!

I used Loreal Excellence too and it was the worst mistake I`ve ever made!!!! It turned my bright blonde hair GREY! It is the crappiest hair dye I have ever used, and now I am having to spend hundreds of dollars at a salon to TRY and fix it.

just did it to mine. do not buy the loreal excellence. my hair was a light blonde. wanted to touch up the roots. dyed it. and its now a grey/green colour. have no idea what to do now. if i dye it again...my hair may fall out. not dyeing it.....social suicide. i cant really pull off the grey look...being 19.

how do you retone faded over-lighted hair ? would you use semi-perm color?my hair is a level #8 now

This has happened to me :( I had beautiful bright blonde hair and then i used that stupied Loreal lightest ash blonde to and now my hairs gone green/ grey. im only 14 and nothings working to get the stupid dye out. At school im getting teased and the hairdressers say theres nothing i can do. I`ve tried everything to strip the dye, baby oil (mineral oils meant to strip dye) Ketchup (meant to neutralise the green) Toners, obsessive washing. IM STILL GREY HAIRED! i also did a strand test to see if i could dye it back blonde and it had NO EFFECT at all! if any of you lot have a solution to how i can fix my hair please please email me; lucymoss_x@hotmail.co.uk if you know any good techniques for stripping out dye? xxxx

I think its because the prelightening will damage your hair, so if you use a harsh product like hair dye over already prelightened hair, your hair will be destroyed. I have done it before though and it worked out ok.

same thing has happend to me i used nice n easy light ash blonde and omg ! my roots have turned grey the rest of my hair is a nice lightish blonde i have tried many things to get rid of it and nothing is workin. and im determined not to go back dark iv spent far too much money going from black to blonde in a salon. if anyone has anyways to help please do, its my 21st next week and i really want even hair for my party

Dying blonde hair to auburn is never to be done in just one step with just one box of color! I would do lots of strand tests with this one! Learn everything you can about dying hair brown and then adding a reddish tint to it. If you have golden or ash blonde hair to start with makes a difference. You don`t want to triple up on the reds so that you have a color that was not in your wildest imagination! If you just dye your hair auburn in one step, it WILL be Ronald Mcdonald red!!
