i was just reading about these fertility monitors that are supposed to work better than the ovulation test strips. i also saw something about the digital clearblue easy monitor. is there a difference, or are they just the same thing? if there is a difference, which one is better? do they use the same test strips? and has anyone had success from using the fertility monitor over the test strips??

i tried the ovulation kit and just got annoyed and never saw a positive...I just sprang for the Fertility Monitor which is digital . You start testing on day 6 and test for 10 days..it's so much easier...no figuring out if the control line is darker or anything...just a nice readout that tells you how fertile you are...the first month is pretty much spent getting to know your cycle...but it's a lot less frustrating than the ovu kits to me. I bought mine off eBay...reset it and it's working great! Good luck! Looks like I'm ovulating a few days earlier than I thought, so that helps a LOT!

i got the posative ovulation last week on tuesday with the strips, wednesday morning with the fertility monitor, anyway since then its been asking me to test still, and im due my period on tuesday, and theres a line starting to form on the sticks, i know it cant be ovulation as im on cd25 and i have a 29 day cycle and as i said my period is due on tuesday, so could it be that its picking up pregnancy hormones? or does it start to form a line before your period is due? im sure its only been the last 2 days that a line has started forming since ovulation the other tsts have had no lines http://pic80.picturetrail.com/vol2004/12980751/23140380/389196605.jpg theres pic, ive heard that ovulation tests cant tell the difference between pregnancy hormones and ovulation hormones and picks up both, could i be reading to much into it or could it be a sign that i could be pregnant? im currently 8dpo today i dont want to take a pregnancy test until monday, which would put me at 12dpo (i have a 12-13day lutheal phase) not a great picture mind u lol

You could very well be pregnant and the test stick is picking up the hormones. Personally. I used the monitor. When I got my BFP @ 9dpo with Answer Early, I used one of my left over cbfm sticks and it was positive too (just like positive ovulation ). So you could be. I've read that LH and HCG are sister hormones and that OPKs can pick up both while as a pregnancy test can only pick up HCG. GL! and baby dust. I'd test tomorrow at 9dpo and you might get a positive! If you don't want to wait.
